Folk / country-rock / singer-songwriter Ottawa, ON, CA

Andy began singing at a very young age, teaching himself drums at about six, and later tried to learn songs on the piano. An older brother gave him a Rickenbacker guitar in 1979, and he began teaching himself in earnest. Soon he was playing on the piano and guitar, original, Stevie Wonder and Supertramp songs for his high school in rural southern Ontario. Eventually moving to Toronto, another older brother introduced him to the coffeehouse scene. Before long, he was acting in theater, (K.Y.T.E.S, and for A.N.D.P.V.A.) and playing clubs and coffeehouses. Soon after he helped form a CSNY tribute with John Law, (of the award-winning duo The Laws.  His music and voice has been called unique and heartfelt, versatile and uncommon.

In 2012, June, at the Solsitice Powwow in Vincent Massey Park, Ottawa, Andy entered, and subsequently won, the Canada\’s Aboriginal\’s Got Talent showcase, in his third entry at the showcase. He won a cash prize, and a feature article in the August issue of SAY Magazine.

2. STEVIE & THE MUSSKRATS!

Stevie and the Musskrats!” is a band from Canada’s capital city, Ottawa, just a short 4 hour drive from Toronto.

Having been compared to the likes of Dan Fogelberg, The Counting Crows, and Blind Melon, to name a few, the Musskrats play a long setlist of covers featuring the modern masters of blues, pop, rock, southern rock, and new country music as well. They can also play a setlist of award winning original music as needed.

Members of the Musskrats:

Stephen “Musskrat” Muss, is the lead singer and songwriter as well as an accomplished audio engineer and producer. He writes original music often from personal experiences, and his style is heavily influenced by many of the modern contemporary british invasion based and influenced pop / rock / americana masters.

Larry Garnett is a well traveled professional guitarist, guitar instructor and multi-instrumentalist. Larry teaches music, and performs shows all year round, and has been doing so for over 30 years.

  The Jimmy Tri-Tone Band

“I was really impressed with the songwriting on the originals; there was lots of inventiveness in both the music and the lyrics — like I said, these two work hard.”

This folk-rock duo is composed of James Walters and Randelle Ashley. Although they did not meet until later on in life, James and Randelle both grew up in the small town of Almonte, Ontario.
