Dunlop’s Honey

Honey, Bread

Scott Dunlop

I’ve been a beekeeper since 1996, when I took over my uncle’s beehives. Dunlop’s have been beekeepers in Lanark County for four generations.

We extract our honey multiple times throughout the season so we can get different flavours from different flowers. In addition, we make beeswax candles, hand cream, leather preservative and honeycomb. We also make fresh bread every Saturday.

McGahey Farms

Fresh Produce

Dave and Peter McGahey

McGahey Farm is a hobby farm located between Carleton Place and Perth conveniently off of Highway 7 and has been in the family for more than 25 years.

We have a variety of meats available including Black Angus which has become a real hit throughout the close communities. It is 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef and raised without the use of hormones.

We also have chickens and turkeys which are fed grass and grain and are available for pre-order for Christmas and Thanksgiving; and have recently decided to stray off the beaten path and enter the goat market as well.

We pride ourselves in our abundant gardens which grow more fresh vegetables than we know what to do with. We have had many visitors come to take tours of the gardens and view the animals.

Pair-a-Gardens

Fresh Produce

Pair A Gardens   Nathalie Hansen and Ian Jones

Pair A Gardens is a certified organic vegetable farm located in Ottawa’s south-west end (Ashton).  We love to cook and try new dishes so we grow what we enjoy to eat and what grows well on our farm.  This translates into fresh, great tasting vegetables, which we want others to enjoy.  You can find us at the farmers markets, drop by our farm stand or subscribe to one of our weekly or bi-weekly basket subscriptions.

We have always had a holistic approach to how we have managed our farm, whether its breeding and raising our own laying hens, or tending to our Three Nubian ewes through their childbirths, we now have ten goats!

We are very hands on from planting the organic seeds, and several transplants,  to the garden for the final stage of growth and harvest. There is a tremendous amount of satisfaction growing healthy and tasty veggies so you’ll likely see us smiling when you to come to visit and see for yourself where your goodness comes from.

Knowing how food is grown is important and because of this, we are certified organic with Ecocert Canada.
